The matte black finish certainly gives this guitar a dark edge but with the versatility of the Wilkinson pickups and incredible sustain, it lends itself to a variety of playing styles. The DDSE can equally deliver shimmering clean tones for chord work, fingerstyle snappiness and twang as well as distorted blues-driven sustain, dirty ‘stoner rock’ or even heavy metal lead. With the continuation of the matte finish throughout, the slim body design and set neck create a sleek looking instrument which plays as one.

The key with the Kingdom SLVT design was to create the ultimate ‘workhorse’ guitar which could lend itself to a myriad of styles and tones and appeal to those players with an array of tastes from country and blues to extreme metal. With a humbucker-single-single pickup combination, 5-way selector switch, volume and push/pull tone control, you have 7 basic pickup tones on offer.

Kingdom SOORD Electric Guitar

Design and Conquer

Initially designed and prototyped in 2014/15 as a one-off instrument for Bruce Soord of The Pineapple Thief/Wisdom of Crowds, the first ‘SOORD’ (a play-on-words of ‘sword’ of course) was based around Bruce’s requirements for studio writing/recording and live/touring use. He wanted a guitar that was based around an old Highway One Telecaster with the same kind of neck profile and body shape but with humbucker pickups. Because of the dynamic range of songs in TPT’s back catalogue, the SOORD had to be capable of packing a punch with overdriven/distorted tones but also produce a clean sparkle for more chorded voicings and clarity and resonance for individually picked phrases. We have now produced this small production run and can also build one-off custom versions at your request.

Kingdom SOORD players include: Bruce Soord of The Pineapple Thief – Bruce used his SOORD on the whole of the Your Wilderness album if you are looking for an audio demo! Jack Darnell of Confessions Of A Traitor (full-custom UK-made SOORD) and David Gillam (SOORD with EMG HetSet).

Kingdom ONYX7 7-String Electric Guitar

Crafted to crush your audience both visually and aurally, the ONYX7’s blistering tone comes from its simplistic design and tends to be the ideal choice for the metal/progressive guitarist. Not only does the extended scale-length of 27 inches lend itself to drop tunings and sparkly harmonics, the set neck ensures the uninterrupted flow of tone into the pickups. The result is a sound which is extremely focused and delivers both high-gain and clean tones incredibly well.

A single volume and 3-way switch is sometimes all you need; backing the volume off and switching pickup positions will give you any tone variations you may require – should you be that way inclined. The carved mahogany body is very comfortable and surprisingly lightweight – but still well-balanced with the headstock. The geometric body carvings provide the player with multiple benefits such as easy access to the 24th fret, hand comfort from the tapered neck heel and a generous “belly” cut.
